SAUCONY FREEDOM ISO 2 - The Freedom ISO was the first shoe with a full midsole of Saucony's Everun blown TPU. Round two plays up its strengths, while applying the typical minor tweaks to an update. The upper keeps the ISO design, articulated lacing that wraps the midfoot security, constantly adjusting throughout the stride for an accommodating fit. The mesh breathes well, with enough structure to hold the foot, a TPU clip keeps the heel aligned without overly restricting motion. The midsole is a resilient blown TPU, which makes it very well suited to the roads, and for runners with a preference towards the softer/bouncier end of the spectrum. The outersole maintains its durable crystal rubber, the chevron-like pattern offers effective grip on a wide variety of surfaces, making run options fairly broad. Overall, the Freedom ISO 2 is a high-mileage running shoe that is versatile enough for longer races, daily running, and which will fit well into many a shoe rotation. Updates the Freedom ISO.

JULY 7 - The Barocco Race, a 24k event held in Ragusa Ibla is the perfect opportunity to visit the fine Sicilian Baroque architecture, as the course winds through the "pearls" of the Val di Noto: Ragusa, Modica, and Scicli where the finish line is placed. These towns are inscribed in the Unesco World Heritage List as "representing the culmination and final flowering of Baroque art in Europe". The settlements of the Val di Noto were mostly destroyed by an earthquake in 1693. The rulers of the time, the kings of Spain, granted the nobleman Giuseppe Lanza special authority to redesign the damaged towns, which he did in a Baroque and Renaissance style. www.maratonadiragusa.com |
