UNDER ARMOUR FLOW VELOCITI WIND - Under Armour divides its running lineup into silos based on technology and midsole makeup. Enter the Flow Velociti Wind, a new shoe geared to performance. The sole is a light, rubberless material, essentially all midsole, with elastomers added to the foam which provides grip, bounce, and abrasion resistance to the material, all while reducing the weight. The surface of the sole has concentric patterns in the heel and forefoot which provide traction, its stretchy flexibility and slightly tacky surface offering a grippy responsiveness that match its performance orientation. The upper is an engineered mesh, called Warp, with bi-directional strands supporting the foot in every plane, offering little stretch and good support, while maximizing breathability. The fit is very close and quite low profile, the Under Armour website recommending sizing up one half size, though a full size would likely not be too much for many runners. The Flow Velociti Wind features wireless connectivity to UA MapMyRun and its analysis tools to improve performance. Overall, the Flow Velociti Wind is snug, protective, and efficient.
Testers: "Really good cushioning, with a snug and secure fit. A top choice for tempo runs in my shoe rotation."
