A local runners' favourite course is in the Pineta area of Cirò Marina. The course goes along the seaside, passing by Punta Alice. Unfortunately there are no water fountains nor restrooms, but the course is open to everyone. It is very panoramic. It starts by going through the forest, thick with pine trees, and then continues alongside the beautiful Ionio sea

KAHRU FLOW 4 TRAINER FULCRUM - The Flow Trainer has been the sturdiest of the performance shoes in Karhu's Flow family. Round 4 maintains the proven chassis of the line, while bolstering the support of the shoe's upper without adding unnecessary weight. The upper is closed mesh supported by woven hexagons, with fused no-sew overlays and a few traditionally stitched supports in the highest stress areas of the toe, saddle, and eyestay. The memory foam lobes beneath the ankle bones, warm to touch, conforming to and gripping the heel very effectively, and with less foam. The midsole is compression-molded EVA foam, firm enough to respond well to the road, the Fulcrum adding a bit of stability direction without really being noticeable. The added support in the upper, coupled with its dialed-in midsole/outersole setup continues to provide the ride and feel of a shoe with a clear performance purpose.
Testers: "Nice fit for performance and comfort. Low profile feel has great flexibility. Mostly for faster mid-length training, they doubled nicely as a long racer, certainly were light enough."

![]() | SEPTEMBER 5 - Imagine running on the same trails walked by Saint Francis of Assisi and passing by the very same place where he received the stigmata on September 17, 1224. This is what the Trail delle foreste di Badia Prataglia offers to the participants running on the 67k course. The event also features shorter distances - 25k, 14h, 13k, 5k, and a minitrail run for the kids - all within the gorgeous national park of the Casentino forests, in Tuscany. www.trailrunpro.it |
![]() | SEPTEMBER 13 - In the French-speaking Aosta valley, the Tor des Géants is an international 7-day 330k non-stop ultramarathon that will showcase all the region's majestic mountains, such as the Gran Paradiso, the Monte Rosa, the Cervino, and the Monte Bianco (the highest mountain in the Alps and the highest peak in Europe). No more than 40% of Italians are allowed to be among the participants, so if you like ultrarunning here is your chance. The start is in Courmayeur, one of Europe's most famous ski locations, and trail runners will have 150 hours to complete the feat. www.tordesgeants.it |
![]() | SEPTEMBER 27 - Running and shopping united at last with the Fashion marathon, La mezza del Valdarno Fiorentino, a half marathon in the Valdarno region where natural beauty goes along with the presence of some of the world's top fashion houses. The start is at The Smart Gallery, a mall in the shadow of the Torre del Castellano, one of the most beautiful castles around Firenze, overlooking the river Arno valley and dating back to the year 927.
